It all comes down to growth.
As business owners, we tackle one of the most challenging things a human being can attempt. And as we’re trying to surmount those challenges, it’s important to keep the bigger picture in mind.
Why did you start a business in the first place? Why are you dedicating your blood, sweat, and tears towards making it grow?
For me, it’s mastery. I want to become the best version of me that I can possibly be…and the best way to do that is by handling a wide variety of challenges.
And there is no better source of challenge than a business.
A lot of those challenges leave us pretty charged, emotionally. And like Maggie says in the video, that can leave us in short-term thinking.
The growth you experience as a result of short-term thinking is volatile, chaotic, and can lead many entrepreneurs into feelings of anxiety and stress.
Planning is the art of dissolving problems in advance.
By dissolving those charges, we gain mastery. We’re better able to see into the future toward what we want. We’re better able to align that future with our values. And we’re better able to take that aligned future and break it down into actionable plans.
When we make those plans real, we grow. That’s all there is to it.
