I’m very fortunate to be able to learn from a man as smart as Dr. John Demartini, and this quote really sums up what I’m sure a lot of you have heard from me before: there is no better indicator to meaning than your own behaviour.
People are out there suffering every day because they’re living lives of “got to, ought to, should do,” and being run by external expectations for what they find meaningful. They’ve let their own voice be drowned out by the voices of others.
If you want to be the next Elon Musk, you’re never going to be. He was able to do what he did because he loved doing it, not because he was trying to live up to some external role model.
You can’t be the next Elon Musk, but you can be the first of whatever you find value in. All you need to do is give yourself permission to single-mindedly devote yourself to that pursuit.
